The beauty of bold red lipstick is that it can hold its own—wear it and you don't really need much else on your face. So we were floored by the look at Dior's Couture spring 2016 show in Paris, where Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup Peter Philips paired intense cherry lips with thick, fluffy brows. The effect? Clean, classic—and also incredibly cool. To get that gradient effect, where the red looks just slightly softer on the inner part of the lip, Philips first applied Dior Diorific Mat Velvet Colour Lipstick in Fabeuluse (a richly pigmented cherry red) all over, and then layered on a darker red (Diorific Mat Lipstick in Troublante) in the center of the lower lip. (Troublante is only sold in Europe—bummer—but Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Brun Jungle is a good swap for it.) Really, though, it's the fluffy brows that make this whole look come together. If you weren't genetically blessed with a major set of eyebrows (or you were, and you tweezed them into submission) you can still give them that dense look with a tinted brow gel like Dior Diorshow Brow Styler or pomade like Glossier Boy Brow.
